Aizawl, May 21 -- Mizoram will launch a state-wide Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls from May 30, with every voter - including those already enrolled - required to submit fresh enumeration forms as part of an exercise aimed at maintaining a "clean and accurate" electoral roll.
Explaining the process on Thursday, Mizoram Chief Electoral Officer Garima Gupta said the revision drive seeks to ensure that all eligible voters are included while preventing the entry of ineligible persons into the electoral roll.
Calling the electoral roll the "bedrock of democracy", Gupta said the state has already begun extensive preparations for the revision exercise across all districts.
