Fresh Low Pressure area over Bay becomes Well Marked, to intensify as Cyclonic Storm Montha on Oct 27

Chennai, Oct. 24 -- The fresh Low Pressure Area that formed over the Bay today,the third in the last few days, has become Well Marked this evening and will intensifyinto Depression and also as Cyclonic Storm 'Montha' on October 27, promising heavyrains in North coastal and North Interior districts of Tamil Nadu and in some Cauverydelta region districts till Tuesday.

In a special bulletin tonight, the Met office said the Low Pressure Area over thesoutheast Bay of Bengal became a Well-marked low-Pressure area over thesame region at 1730 hrs of today, as Tamil Nadu braces up to face the ensuingCyclone.

It is likely to move west-northwestwards, intensify into Depression over southeastand adjoining central Bay of Bengal by tomorrow and further...
