Kochi, May 12 -- The curtain has officially risen on the Seventh Edition of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale with the announcement of internationally celebrated French-Algerian artist and curator Kader Attia as the curator of the 2027-28 edition of India's largest contemporary art exhibition.

The announcement was made by Jitish Kallat at a special Biennale event held in Venice on May 8, marking the formal beginning of a new curatorial chapter for the globally recognised art festival.

The announcement was followed by an in-depth public conversation between Kallat and Attia, reflecting on art, history, memory, and the evolving possibilities of the Biennale.
