Zurich (Switzerland), April 2 -- France has returned to the top of the FIFA world rankings forthe first time in nearly eight years, climbing to No. 1 in the latest standings following a strong runof results in the March international window.
Friendly wins over Brazil and Colombia lifted France above Spain and Argentina, with Les Bleus reclaiming top spot for the first time since September 2018 in a tightly contested top three separated by only marginal points differences.
Spain, which had held the lead since September 2025, slipped to second after a 0-0 draw with Egypt, while world champion Argentina dropped to third.
