New Delhi, Sept. 6 -- Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) returned to the selling mode in the first week of September, withdrawing Rs 7,443 crore from Indian equities, as rising crude oil prices, higher US bond yields and a stronger dollar weighed on investor sentiment.

According to data from the National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL), the overseas investors pulled out Rs 7,443 crore from Indian stocks during the period up to September 4.

The latest withdrawal comes after two months of strong buying. FPIs had invested more than Rs 29,600 crore in Indian equities in August and around Rs 20,200 crore in July.
