Gorakhpur, April 3 -- A tragic incident in Gorakhpur has left a community in shock after four teenagers drowned in the Rapti River on Wednesday evening.

The incident reportedly occurred around 4 PM near a temporary bridge (Pipa bridge) in Mirzapur village under the Khajni/Khorabar area.

According to officials, five teenagers had gone to bathe in the river. While four of them drowned, one managed to escape and safely returned home, later informing authorities and villagers about the incident. When police arrived at the scene, they found four bicycles and four pairs of slippers on the riverbank, confirming fears of a major mishap.
