Keylong, Jan. 13 -- Four tourists who went missing after visiting Pangong Lake on January 10 were traced safe in Himachal Pradesh following a coordinated search operation launched by the Lahaul Spiti police, officials said on Tuesday.

According to police, the tourists left Pangong Lake in their private vehicle on the evening of January 9 at around 5.30 pm and were in touch with their families the same day. However, contact was lost thereafter, prompting their families to approach the police on January 13.

During the investigation, it emerged that while returning towards Leh, the tourists reached Karu and mistakenly followed a signboard leading towards the Leh-Manali highway.
