Kochi, Jan. 21 -- Police have initiated legal action against four minors in the brutal assault of a school student at Paingottoor in Kerala's Ernakulam district.
The incident came to light after a video of the assault surfaced on social media, triggering widespread outrage.
The attack reportedly occurred about a week ago near the Paingottoor bus stand. The video shows the victim being questioned and physically assaulted inside an unused police aid post, with the assailants repeatedly beating him. One of the youths is seen recording the incident on a mobile phone.
Following the circulation of the footage, Pothanikkad police registered a case under the relevant provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act against all four youths.
