Itanagar, Aug. 15 -- Four persons are feared dead after a major landslide struck the Keojaring-Byaching PMGSY road cutting site near Nacho in Arunachal Pradesh's Upper Subansiri district today afternoon, burying several labourers under the debris.
According to a preliminary report from the District Disaster Management Officer (DDMO), Upper Subansiri, the deceased have been identified as Tadu Baki, Taji Rai, Markosh Basumatari and Babul Ali.
The body of Babul Ali has been recovered, while the other three persons are still reportedly trapped beneath the debris.
The search and rescue operation was suspended for the day due to operational constraints and is scheduled to resume on Saturday morning to recover the remaining three bodies.
