Nawada, July 24 -- At least four people were killed and two women sustained serious burn injuries after being struck by lightning in Sangover village under Nardiganj block of Nawada district this afternoon.
According to police, the deceased have been identified as Shambhu Kumar (44), Sonu Kumar (10), Madan Rajvanshi (55), and Muneshwar Rajvanshi (55). The injured women, Shobha Devi and Sunita Devi, are undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Officials said the incident occurred at around 2:00 p.m. when the victims were standing under a tree near a hill on the outskirts of the village. A sudden lightning strike with thunder hit the area, killing four people on the spot and leaving two women seriously injured.
