New Delhi, March 3 -- Delhi Police have arrested four for allegedly duping a grocery shop owner of Rs 17.1 lakh in a stock market investment scam operated through a WhatsApp group, officials said on Tuesday.
Additional Commissioner of Police (North-West) Bhisham Singh said the district's Cyber Police Station busted what appeared to be an organised cyber fraud syndicate that lured victims with promises of high returns on stock market investments.
"The accused were part of an organised cyber fraud syndicate. They arranged mule bank accounts to receive the cheated amount and later liquidated the funds through gaming applications and other digital platforms to conceal the money trail.
