Karwar, March 27 -- In a swift breakthrough, police have arrested four accused from neighbouring Goa in connection with the fatal attack on Congress leader and close aide of Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara, Gopalakrishna Nayak (46), in Ankola.

Taking the incident seriously, police teams tracked down and apprehended the suspects at the Goa border within hours of the attack.

The arrested have been identified as Zakir, Nijal, Saddam and Irfan, all reportedly engaged in occupations such as driving, bouncer services, real estate and centring work in Goa.
