Lucknow/Meerut, April 17 -- The grilling of four suspected terror operatives, held by the Anti-Terrorist Squad, has revealed that they were plotting a large-scale terror attack in the country under the direction of handlers based in Pakistan, officials disclosed on Friday.

The accused-identified as Saqib, Arbaab, Lokesh, and Vikas, all residents of Meerut-were apprehended in Lucknow on April 2.

According to investigators, the suspects were in regular contact with Pakistani handlers and were conspiring to carry out anti-national activities.

During the investigation, authorities recovered crucial evidence from their mobile phones, including WhatsApp chats, audio recordings, and location-sharing data.
