Etah, Oct. 23 -- Tension gripped Deopur village under Aliganj police station area after former village head Jai Singh (70) was brutally murdered, reportedly over an old election-related rivalry, police said today.
According to police, Jai Singh, who had served as village head three times, was returning home from Aliganj on his motorcycle when he was attacked last evening. The dispute allegedly broke out over the digging and removal of soil from a plot belonging to his son-in-law, Netrapal Fauji. The current village head, Amit Fauji, and his relatives were reportedly involved in the altercation.
