Thiruvananthapuram, Jan. 3 -- : Former Kerala Transport Minister and MLA Antony Raju was found guilty in the sensational underwear evidence-tampering case, bringing to an end a legal battle that spanned more than three decades.
The verdict was delivered by the Nedumangad Judicial First Class Magistrate Court (I).
The case dates back to April 4, 1990, when an Australian national, Andrew Salvatore, was arrested at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport for allegedly smuggling narcotic substances concealed in his underwear. A Sessions Court later convicted him and sentenced him to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment.
