Kozhikode, Sept. 14 -- Former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reportedly faced intense criticism at the CPI-M's extended State Committee meeting being held in Kozhikode, where delegates directly blamed his leadership style for the party's historic defeat in the 2026 assembly elections.

Delegates argued that the presented draft rectification document is insufficient to rebuild public trust and regain the party's lost credibility.

Critics noted that the assembly loss was not unexpected, pointing out that the state party leadership consistently failed to read the public pulse or adjust its strategy despite suffering consecutive defeats in every election since 2021.
