Islamabad, Dec. 12 -- Former head of Pakistani intelligence Lt Gen (Retd) Faiz Hamid was sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment by a military tribunal on allegations of breaching military discipline, misuse of authority, and taking political actions detrimental to state interests.
The retired chief of the country's premier intelligence wing - the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) - was put on trial by the Pakistan military's Field General Court Marshal on Aug 12, 2024, under the Pakistan Army Act, which went on for 15 months, according to a press statement by the military's media wing - the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
