Imphal, Sept. 6 -- Security forces and Manipur Police carried out a series of operations across the state yesterday, leading to multiple arrests linked to militant groups and drug-related activities.
Two active cadres of the proscribed group PREPAK (PRO) were arrested from Pangaltabi, Chairel Khunjao Louyai IVR in Kakching district and Chairel Mangjing area, Bishnupur district. Both are residents of Chairel Mangjing, Bishnupur, and were involved in extortion, security sources said.
In another operation, forces arrested two more PREPAK cadres from Ngariyan Naka checkpoint under Andro-PS, Imphal East district. The arrested individuals, residents of Thoubal district, were also involved in extortion activities.
