Bhubaneswar, Sept. 1 -- Over 10,500 people have been affected by floods in Jajpur and Mayurbhanj district, with over 2,000 evacuated to safety, even as the overall situation in Odisha remained under control on Tuesday amid continued heavy rain in parts of Mayurbhanj.
Jajpur accounted for 7,745 affected people, with Dasarathpur block, 19 gram panchayats and 62 villages impacted. Twenty-two relief camps are operational in the district.
In Mayurbhanj, 2,763 people have been affected across 18 blocks, 48 gram panchayats and 84 villages, besides two wards of Baripada Municipality. As many as 2,076 people have been evacuated and accommodated in 11 relief camps.
