Vrindavan, Aug. 28 -- On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, five widowed elderly mothers from ashrams in Vrindavan and Varanasi got the chance to tie handcrafted Rakhis to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Hundreds of women living in various ashrams in Vrindavan and Varanasi "consider Modi jee as their brother" and craft Rakhis every year, an official said.
On the sacred festival of Rakhi this year too, five widowed mothers from Vrindavan and Varanasi had the blessed fortune of tying Rakhi to Modi, the official said.
