Jamtara (Jharkhand), March 6 -- Five minors were rescued by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) from Jamtara railway station on Friday in a suspected human trafficking case.

Officials said the children were travelling on train number 22306, the Jasidih-Bengaluru weekly express, and were allegedly being taken to Bengaluru for labour work. They had boarded the train from Jasidih station.

The rescue operation was conducted after an organisation, Madhupur Ashray, alerted the RPF that around 20 to 25 minors were being taken to Bengaluru for labour work.

Acting on the information, the RPF team intercepted the train at Jamtara station and rescued five minors.
