Motihari, Nov. 30 -- Altogether five people were killed and six others sustained injuries after a speeding truck ran over them under Kotwa police station area in East Champaran district of Bihar today.
Police said here that a speeding truck hit five motorcyclists and an autorickshaw near Dipau chowk, killing five people on the spot while six others sustained injuries in the incident.
Driver managed to escape leaving truck on the spot, police informed.
"All the injured were admitted to a local hospital for treatment," police said, adding that bodies were sent for postmortem.
Locals agitated over the incident, allegedly set ablaze a vehicle of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
