Kolkata, April 23 -- Five men have been arrested in connection with the assault on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Subhendu Sarkar from Kumarganj in South Dinajpur district, during polling for phase 1 of the West Bengal Assembly election on Thursday, police said.
Sarkar alleged that his car was also vandalised by Trinamool Congress workers.
He claimed BJP polling agents were being forcibly removed from several booths.
