Chennai, Sept. 9 -- The fishermen community and the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) on Wednesday opposed the Vijay-led TVK government's move to construct a modern new State Secretariat complex at the Pattinapakkam area, to ease the congestion in the present premises at the Fort.St.George.
The Government has issued an Order today afternoon for the construction of the new Secretariat complex spanning 20 lakh sqft at an estimated cost of Rs 1,200 crore in line with the announcement made by Chief Minister Vijay under Rule 110 in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on September 3.
