Thiruvananthapuram, July 3 -- The ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with K.M. Mohammed Imrosh for the transfer of technology to commercially produce Partially Hydrolysed Fin Collagen Concentrate, marking a significant step towards converting fish processing waste into value-added functional products.

The technology is designed to promote the sustainable utilisation of fish processing by-products, particularly fish fins, which are commonly discarded in retail markets despite being rich in collagen.

By converting fish fin collagen into concentrated and partially hydrolysed forms, the technology enhances its bioavailability and expands its potential applications.
