Chandigarh, April 2 -- Panic gripped a village in New Chandigarh's Mohali district after unidentified assailants opened fire on the residence of a prominent property dealer late at night, police said. The attackers, who reportedly arrived on a motorcycle, fired multiple rounds before fleeing under the cover of darkness, leaving residents in fear.

According to officials, around eight rounds were fired during the incident.

Senior police officers rushed to the scene soon after receiving information, accompanied by forensic teams and personnel from the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) to secure evidence and initiate an investigation.
