Chandigarh, June 5 -- The Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh has launched an intensified fire safety enforcement drive, with Fire and Rescue Services conducting surprise inspections of coaching institutes in Sectors 24 and 25 to assess preparedness during the summer season.
The inspection campaign was carried out under the supervision of Joint Commissioner-cum-Chief Fire Officer Dr. Inder Jeet, along with teams led by Station Fire Officers from fire stations in Sectors 17, 32, and 38.
During the audit, officials identified several shortcomings related to fire prevention systems, emergency preparedness measures, and life safety arrangements at a number of coaching centres. Authorities directed the managements of the concerned institutes t...
