Sitapur, Jan. 22 -- Irregularities in the Public Distribution System (PDS) continue to surface in Sitapur district. Following confirmation of foodgrain theft, the Supply Inspector has lodged an FIR against a transport contractor and the Block Pramukh of Behata, officials confirmed on Thursday. Police are currently collecting evidence related to the incident.
Behata Block Pramukh Kalpana Verma is also the contractor responsible for transportation under the PDS. Her husband, Neeraj Verma alias "Jhallar," holds the post of district vice-president in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
