Hobart, Feb. 22 -- The Indian men's hockey team suffered a narrow 4-5 penalty shootout loss against hosts Australia after a 2-2 draw in regulation time in their FIH Men's Pro League match at the Tasmania Hockey Centre on Sunday.
India had taken control of the contest through Amit Rohidas (15') and Jugraj Singh (43'), but a brace from Joel Rintala (47', 56') helped Australia draw level and force the shootout, where the hosts eventually prevailed, as per the Hockey India website.
Australia dominated possession early on, but India's defence held firm and capitalised on a penalty corner late in the first quarter, with Rohidas converting a dragflick to hand the visitors a 1-0 lead.
