Chennai, June 23 -- Brushing aside the criticism that the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) secured the mandate solely due to celluloid craze, a fiery Joseph Vijay on Tuesday made it clear that he had not been catapulted to the Chief Minister's office straight from film sets, but through years of activism and people's connect.

"Some people continue to claim that I have been catapulted as Chief Minister straight from the movie sets. That is just a reel and not real, is my answer in their own language", Vijay said, replying to the debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor for his address in the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
