Hyderabad/New Delhi, May 22 -- : Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) on Friday welcomed union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal's proposed visit to Canada from May 25 to 27, saying it would help strengthen bilateral trade and revive negotiations on the proposed Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).

In a statement, FIEO said the visit comes at a crucial time as India and Canada work towards resuming CEPA negotiations, with both countries aiming to increase bilateral trade to USD 50 billion by 2030.

FIEO president S C Ralhan said the visit reflects the commitment of both nations to rebuild economic engagement and accelerate discussions on the proposed trade pact.
