Chennai, July 23 -- After overcoming all the hurdles, Jana Nayagan, the eagerly awaited swansong film of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor-politician Vijay, finally hit the screens on Thursday across the world, triggering festive celebrations by his fans.
The film, earlier scheduled for release during the Pongal festival, faced nearly six months delay due to legal and censorship hurdles. After crossing them, it opened up in about 4,000 screens in 30 countries, including about 1,000 screens in Tamil Nadu, marking one of the biggest releases for a Tamil film, with overwhelming response at the box office.
