Imphal, July 16 -- The festival of Chariot, Kang (Ratha Yatra) was celebrated today in a grand manner in Manipur. Devotees flocked to Shri Shri Govindajee temple to offer prayers as priests performed rituals to Lord Jagannath, Lord Bhalabhadra and Goddess Shubadra.
The Divine Lords and Goddess ascended the chariot attended by large numbers of people.
Governor AK Bhalla, MLAs and others took part in the chariot pulling ceremony.
As a tradition in Manipur, no other chariot is pulled until the chariot at the Shri Shri Govindajee temple at the Royal Palace complex is pulled.
