Chandrapur, June 4 -- The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) department conducted a major raid at a Patanjali Mega Store in the Jatpura Gate area of Chandrapur city and seized medicines allegedly being sold in violation of regulations, officials said on Thursday.
According to FDA officials, a surprise inspection at the store revealed objectionable claims and misleading advertisements on certain medicines kept for sale.
The packaging of the medicines allegedly claimed to cure ailments such as obesity, asthma, heart disease and fever.
Officials said such claims are prohibited under the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954, which bars advertisements promising guaranteed treatment or cure for specified diseases....
