Mumbai, Aug. 16 -- The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued show-cause notices to Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff for allegedly promoting banned pan masala through surrogate advertisements for 'Vimal Elaichi', officials said on Sunday.
According to the notices, the actors allegedly indirectly promoted 'Vimal Pan Masala', which is banned in Maharashtra, by endorsing 'Vimal Elaichi' in advertisements and on social media platforms.
The FDA has asked the actors to immediately discontinue their association with the campaign and remove the related promotional material from their official social media accounts and websites.
