Akola/Mumbai, July 16 -- The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA), under Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, has intensified its crackdown on illegal businesses across the state.
As part of the ongoing crackdown, the FDA and police jointly raided an illegal gutkha and pan masala manufacturing unit in the MIDC area of Akola and seized materials worth approximately Rs 50 lakh.
Acting on confidential information that gutkha, which is banned in the state, was being manufactured illegally at a factory in MIDC No. 4, officials from the FDA and MIDC Police Station conducted a joint operation.
