Washington, July 29 -- The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) expanded its Covered List to include foreign-produced advanced robotic devices and connected power inverters, effectively blocking new models from receiving regulatory approval for sale, import or marketing in the United States after national security agencies determined the products pose "unacceptable risks" to the country.

The move follows determinations by a White House-convened interagency national security body that foreign-made advanced robots, including humanoid and quadruped robots, and connected power inverters could create supply chain vulnerabilities and cybersecurity threats affecting U.S. critical infrastructure and economic security.
