Neeraj BaliChandigarh, Aug. 25 -- Punjab Police and the Border Security Force have recovered 47.5 kg of narcotics from a border area in Fazilka district, with investigators now trying to trace the people who were to receive the consignment after it was sneaked into India from Pakistan.
The seizure includes 44.5 kg of heroin and 3 kg of methamphetamine, commonly known as "ice", according to details released about the operation. The agencies have estimated the combined value of the drugs at more than Rs 235 crore.
The recovery was made during a joint operation by the Ferozepur Counter Intelligence unit and BSF in the Gazniwala area near the international border.
