Lucknow, April 21 -- In a shocking case from Lucknow, the Chinhat police have solved the murder of a 16-year-old girl. According to police officials, the girl was allegedly killed by her own father, Vijay Kumar Chaubey, with the help of his friend Abdul Mannan.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Diksha Sharma stated on Monday that the accused strangled the girl to death. The motive behind the crime was reportedly the father's anger over his daughter's romantic relationship.
Police said the accused took the girl from Chinhat to Barabanki and murdered her.
After the crime, they dumped the body near the Sharda Canal and attempted to destroy her identity by burning her face with acid.
