Panchkula, Sept. 22 -- A Fatehabad court has sentenced a man to two years' imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 after convicting him in an eight-year-old NDPS case involving the recovery of 5.5 kg of poppy husk, prosecution officials said.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Hemant Yadav, Fatehabad, convicted Rajveer alias Bacchi and pronounced the sentence on September 21, Fatehabad District Attorney Devender Mittal said.
According to the prosecution, the case dates back to March 11, 2018, when a police team was conducting patrolling and checking near the bus stand at Dhangar.
The accused allegedly turned around and began walking away quickly after noticing the police team, following which he was stopped on suspicion.
