Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 11 -- union Home Minister, Amit Shah today virtually inaugurated the Fast-Track Immigration- Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, enabling passengers to complete immigration clearance in less than 30 seconds.
The facility, introduced by the Bureau of Immigration under the union Home Ministry, uses automated e-gates to speed up the process for Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cardholders.
Shah said the initiative would not only ease travel but also reflect India's progress in digital transformation. He added that efforts are on to link registration with the issuance of passports and OCI cards to maximise enrollment.
