Srinagar, April 24 -- National Conference (NC) president and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Friday claimed that opposition parties are poised for victory in the Assembly elections in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.
Speaking to reporters, Abdullah said the results were ultimately in God's hands but expressed confidence that Mamata Banerjee would retain power in West Bengal.
West Bengal, which witnessed a high turnout in the first phase on Thursday, is witnessing the fiercest contest between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Trinamool Congress.
The veteran politician Abdullah asserted that the Congress would emerge victorious in Kerala, while in Tamil Nadu, the party led by M K Stalin would form the government.
