Srinagar, June 10 -- Days after the launch of the Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah boarded the train from Srinagar, hailing the service and calling it a boon for locals and tourism.
Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the two semi-high-speed trains connecting the Valley with Jammu's Katra town began operations on June 7. Since their inauguration, the trains have gained immense popularity among locals, pilgrims, and tourists, with bookings already at full capacity.
Before boarding the train, Abdullah told reporters that the train service would give a significant boost to tourism and ease travel for residents.
