Bhandara, Aug. 1 -- : A 30-year-old young farmer died after allegedly slipping on muddy ground and falling face-first into slush near the left bank canal of the Gosikhurd irrigation project in Maharashtra's Bhandara district on Saturday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Pramod Ishwar Thakre, a resident of Kudegaon village in Pauni tehsil.
He had gone to his agricultural field located near the canal in the morning at 9.am when the incident occurred.
According to police, continuous rainfall had made the area slippery, causing him to lose his balance and fall into the mud.
