Burdwan, Sept. 14 -- A single click on a file named 'RTO CHALAN.apk' can hand over complete control of an Android phone to cybercriminals, police have warned residents in West Bengal's East Burdwan district. The file, being circulated through WhatsApp, appears to be a traffic fine notice.
Once installed, it can clone WhatsApp, banking applications, photos and personal documents, giving hackers access to the device, police investigations have revealed.
Police said, "The malware, after auto-installation using the victim's own WhatsApp account to automatically forward the same APK file to groups and contacts, causes a chain reaction to trap multiple people successively."Several political personalities in Guskara civic area have reportedly fa...
