Panchkula, July 27 -- Haryana Police arrested a man for allegedly posing as a doctor and carrying out illegal abortions at an unregistered clinic in Gurugram.
Officers seized MTP kits, medicines, and medical equipment during the operation, a police spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said the case followed a complaint on July 26 from the PCPNDT Cell Nodal Officer, who had received information that Kamal Mahto was running "Kamal Clinic" without a recognised medical qualification and was allegedly posing as a doctor to terminate pregnancies illegally.
To verify the complaint, a team deployed a pregnant woman as a decoy.
The accused allegedly demanded Rs 1,200 for the abortion, gave her an MTP kit, and instructed her on its use.
