New Delhi, Aug. 20 -- Delhi Police's Crime Branch has uncovered an interstate racket allegedly dealing in fake and illegally diverted anti-cancer medicines, arresting 17 people, including hospital staff, pharmacists and medicine traders. The network reportedly operated across Delhi-NCR, Maharashtra, Telangana, Haryana and Rajasthan.
Police said the network sourced expensive cancer medicines through fake suppliers, diverted drugs meant for patients from hospitals, and siphoned off medicines supplied to government hospitals before selling them through a chain of middlemen across several states.
