Lucknow, Nov. 2 -- A major fake billing scam has been uncovered in Lucknow under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system, in which the government reportedly suffered losses worth crores of rupees. According to the State Tax Department, a firm named M/s Shinde Enterprise fraudulently passed on Input Tax Credit (ITC) worth Rs 2.49 crore without carrying out any genuine business activity, officials confirmed today.
Based on an official report submitted by Deputy Commissioner of State Tax, Dr Sanjay Singh, Shinde Enterprise was issued GST registration (GSTIN-09CWCPS8412E2ZD) on March 26, 2025.
