Bengaluru, July 4 -- On the steep and winding Alipiri footpath leading to the hill shrine of Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, an unusual sight drew attention on Saturday as an elderly woman from Karnataka completed the arduous climb of nearly 3,550 steps on foot, accompanied by her family.

Identified by relatives as Lakshmava, also known locally as Bhimava, the woman has been described in some accounts as 116 years old. However, her exact age has not been officially verified, and no documentary confirmation is available so far.
