Nagpur, Aug. 4 -- : The Central Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Nagpur, on Tuesday announced that its resident doctors would launch an indefinite strike from midnight after talks with the Maharashtra government failed to yield a positive outcome on their long-pending demands.

In a statement, the association said the decision was taken after discussions with the government failed to produce a satisfactory resolution to its "legitimate demands."The resident doctors will formally join the strike at 9 a.m. on Wednesday and remain stationed outside the Dean's office as part of their protest, the statement added.
